If you are having remote problems after installing an older version of Acuity Pro on a newer version of Windows, download the driver to your computer by clicking the Remote Driver button. After downloading the driver to the computer where Acuity Pro is installed, double click on the file name to install the newest driver for the Acuity Pro Remote. If your remote is working, you don’t need the update. If you are having problems with the computer recognizing the remote receiver when it is plugged in, you should install the driver. This driver corrects problems associated with losing the connection to the receiver when the computer hibernates or goes inactive for a time. It also has support for Win 8.1, Win 10 and 64 bit machines.
The Acuity Pro Tutorial can also be accessed from Acuity Pro by selecting video (press X on the remote or keyboard) and then selecting Tutorial (press the up or down arrow keys on the remote until Tutorial is displayed and then press Select OR use the mouse to click on Tutorial on the menu at the right side of the screen).
Microsoft recently released a Windows 10 update that appears to have removed support for mpg video files. Acuity ProTM has historically used mpg files for some of the cartoons and videos. If you experience program crashes when attempting to play videos from Acuity ProTM, do one of the following depending on the version of Acuity Pro(TM) you have:
- Acuity ProTM Version 9 – download and install the Version 9 update.
- If you have a previous version of Acuity ProTM, download the zip files by clicking on the Converted Videos button, unzip the files and replace the mpg files in the “C:\Program Files (x86)\Acuity Pro 8.0\videos” with the unzipped ones. If you use hotkeys to play the videos, you will need to re-assign the hot keys to the new files or a crash will occur.
